Newcoiner here.
How do I properly back up my wallets? Every site tells me I should back up wallet.dat, but I can't find it. Is that just for Bitcoin? I have a DGB wallet, ARK wallet and Exodus. Which files do I put on a USB stick for safe keeping?
I could tell you but then you'd have to be disappeared
Send me digibytes and I'll tell you as a digibro

Ah fuck, I can't let another digibro down in his time of need.
You go to the folder that you installed your wallet from, go into the data folder, the wallet.dat file is there, back it up to whatevs.
If you need to uninstall and reinstall your dgb core wallet some time you just replace the new wallet.dat file with the one you have and hey presto praise kek.
Send me a tip please, I love my digibytes and want moar

just keep your money on an exchange with 2fa enabled
I use exodus, exodus makes it easy as fuck to back up my wallets but there is a limited amount of coins.

Do I have to keep backing up that file as my wallet grows or is it a one time thing?
is there any reason I should just keep my shit on bittrex with 2fa?

Just once, it's got the important stuff in it.
Just don't go creating a whole fuckload of different addresses in the core wallet.
Keep it neat and simple.

shouldn't*

When literally everyone tells you not to do that.
Exchanges get hacked, wallets do not.
