Whats the scoop on ltc? Is it a meme, or should i spend my extra 500 on eth or btc?

I plan on buying at least 1 ETH, some LTC and then maybe 100-200 USD in various up-n-comers that are currently very cheap. Ripple, Siacoin etc look promising. Any tips?
