/biz/ I've been offered to run a phone/computer repair shop at £100pw, the owner says he's getting 4/5 phones in a day for screen repair. he said the turnover is 5.5k per month with a 50% margin, I have no reason to doubt him, he's a millionaire. from what I've heard he can't find a decent wagecuck to employee so he's letting it out. At the moment I'm working at dominos, my last paycheck was £650.. so.

sounds like easy money, whats stopping you from doing it?
>>2162258
because I thought retail was ded
>>2162285
If you can make money doing it, and the market for iphones/androids is only increasing, people will need repair services. I see no downside.
>>2162285
uninsured people that can't fix phones go local
>>2162320
is there anyway to find out how many people insure there phones over here? apart from asking friends. UK btw
phone repair makes decent cash if you can buy various batteries and screens in bulk. $50 to replace a screen or battery and you can do it like 15 mins after doing it a few times? if i had patience for people, i'd be all over that

Why are you even considering this? Just get some crypto and go to the fucking moon anon.
>>2162494
Some people want stable income.
>>2162494
I'll be investing in crypto at the same time I hope. could I use spare broken phones to mine crypto for a second income?

this

What's he gonna live off? Crypto shouldn't be cashed out in this day and age.

>Aviva’s research found that three in four families had home contents insurance, while 35 per cent had home appliance cover and 23 per cent had their phone insured.

There's actually a local repair guy that explains why Apple is a shitty company (as if we already didn't know) without coming across as the type to shill his business:
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ihpone+repair
He's dead wrong about the screen repair biz vid though, just saying normies will dole out $100 bucks for a new screen without shopping around.
any nay sayers? seems odd that there's no critisms

The only downside I'd say is that specifically for iPhones, Apple has a new policy that allows people to bring in their used iPhone (has to be damaged/broken/cracked) and they get it replaced with a near-new (refurbished) device for $80-175 depending on repair/market value. That's what I did w/ my 3 year old iPhone 6+ which I then sold it on Swappa to buy my iPhone 6s+
Additionally what's stopping consumers from purchasing their own self-repair kit that includes glass/lcd for $25-60 online.

your 3 year old has a better phone than me ....

have you seen how hard it is replacing the new screens on Samsung s6/7? normies can't do that stuff
Samsung screen placement is £130 from eBay, how much should I charge for my labour ?
