It falls over with the "hope shitcoin moons" bit. This is the equivalent of penny-stock speculation. At this point you're just gambling. Said shit-coin is just as likely to dump as it is pump. It's the timing that's the difficult part because the market is heavily manipulated.

Better strategy would be:
>convert meager capital into coin accepted in margin accounts (BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC etc)
>leverage
>identify fairly stable coin with regular trading pattern
>go long on downswing
>collect 0.5% on upswing
>aim to do this multiple times a day

You're effectively compounding your investment by 1-2% a day. The gains start small, but as your pool of capital increases, so do the gains and the leverage accelerates the whole process.

Drawback include:
Fees for borrowing to leverage
You get cucked harder if you fuck it up.
A dump can come at any time in such a volatile market and completely blow you out the water.

Don't exactly be blind picking them. I'm on ripple because I think it will go up in value and, pump and dumps aside, will end up higher with time. I should have elaborated on the fact I'm holding ripple either way and I'm essentially increasing the number I hold with small gains along the way.

Replace ripple with any other shitcoin you believe will moon(this being the key) and it seems like a sound strategy to me, instead of just holding.

If it means anything I'm far in the + from where I started.

cause you need to buy low and sell high, then buy high and sell higher. I personally missed the XRP train so a good correction is when I would enter. In the meantime I picked up a shitload of XVG cause that was at the bottom so when it hit's 50 dollarcents or so I start to unload the half and leave the rest run for years. So far I am up over 300% in one week and no rush to sell at all at such a low price.
