Why does checking your credit score hurt your credit?
The only reason seems grossly obvious. Credit companies want to keep you in the dark about your own scores.
With credit being as import as money today, and the govt being the only thing that can supply money, your life. Why is it that keeping on track with your own credit score is is allowed to hurt you legally?

Right. But why that? At any point, in any time should it not hurt you. It's a form of extortion.

What's wrong with applying for as many loans as you can? It's not easy finding a loan. It should be.

The idea behind credit report inquiries hurting one's credit score is based on the premise that if several inquiries are made into your credit file by you, your bank, your existing auto loan, your existing credit card, your existing unsecured loan for furniture, etc. then there must be a problem that has arisen with your ability to repay.
Also, if you are going around town and applying for loans/credit with a shotgun approach then the possibility exists for you to become extremely over-extended by being awarded several lines of credit that exceed your capability to repay them in a timely manner.
The numerous inquiries penalty is there so you don't over-extend yourself, and cause losses to whatever Jew you're dealing with.
