Your money is literally decreasing in value if you let it rest on a bank. My advice is, put it in an index fund of some sort. All the good housefathers are doing it.

Invest your money in a conservative stock that pays dividends. Having your money in the bank pays shit interest. Or a mutual fund is a good option. If you want your money for retirement put it in a government bond. Should double by retirement age.
