Consider them a fail until you get a win, thats how it works.

As mentioned earlier, apply to different jobs until you get a call/email. Continue applying even when you get a phone call, before during and after your interview, until you've landed a job. Repeat until you land the job you want

If its a small business, usually a week tops.
A corporation, 3 weeks-6 weeks
Government 3 weeks to 6 months.

Also depends on the level...
Entry - sooner cuz "wtf"
mid-level longer cuz need someone w quals, but hiring supervisors are busy
Exec - call backs are quicker cuz they need you asap, but process is longer cuz need to vet and also the people in charge of hiring are super fucking busy.
