Give one good reason why BTC is worth anything long term, cite a source other than (you).

It's worth something because it is the most known.
It will likely be replaced by ETH, though.
How fast is the real question

Tbh I think there is definitely a market for the near future considering pessimism re: US dollar & the scumfuck banks is pretty high right now in online tech-savvy communities.
I have absolutely no idea if crypto will ever find traction in the mainstream. It could peak as a niche trade medium for video games, porn and drugs. I just feel like you'd be stupid to miss out from the gains in trading coins right now. What the fuck else is there to invest in, mutual funds? Muh 5% a year if youre lucky. The stock market? A house of cards that's pumped full of dumb baby boomer dollars in retirement accounts.
May as well gamble on crypto if you can afford the potential loss (people selling their fucking house to bet on a Russian shitcoin is absurd). Imagine if crypto becomes our generation's dotcom craze & you missed out

Fair, honestly the only sensible thought to come out of this board.

Look at token card if you want an idea of how a decentralised currency can have real world applications.
BTC is the mother crypto. The original capital B blockchain with the best devs and strongest networks. Ignore ETH bagholders like:

delusional. BTC is indeed the basis of all cryptos, but ETH, PIVX, GNT & XBY is where the growth of value lies.
