Is buying solar panels and then selling the energy a good idea?
I have some land (area of 2000m) and i was considering buying some of them, will i gain any money at all? Or will i just lose it?

Your units are wrong.

My units? It has an area of 2000m^2
>>
The only way to know is to create a plan. When I say plan, I mean a large document accounting for all costs and worst case potential returns. Source some high efficiency panels.

this

Buying panels seems like a very long-term engagement to me, and I'm a bit skittish about that.

I'd rather just sell them

OK. That's a good bit of space. Depending on where you live, you might make money. It would really help your profitability if you could do most of the installation yourself. I don't know your skill set.

good idea, but it depends on how much $/Kwh your grid is willing you pay you.

-study how many hours per year sunlight is in your area, just google it.

-are your panels gonna track the sun ? (trackers are costly)

-got a pressure washer ? these things tend to collect dust.

- you'll also need a few 8 Kw SMA power inverters at 4000$ each.

- last I checked solar panels cost 50c per watt

they are companies that do calculations and research for such projects. they check how many hours per day your panels would be exposed to the sun, they consider things like wether conditions and birds - both can damage solar panels or shit on them. you should search for those who have developed such projects before.

In Australia it became unprofitable to sell solar back into the grid, unless your country is run by greenies its very likely your local company is being supplied with cheap energy from coal, gas etc, solar is one if not the most expensive mainstream source of energy.
>>

I would buy one single panel and do the actual math. Note weather conditions also
>>
>>1990167
2 square km is not much space.
Panels are expensive and electricity is cheap, also include the cost of other infrastructure, plus maintenance, initial instalation and normal running costs.
You could probably make it profitable but you will need huge investment and 2km^2 is just not enough. Also where do you live? Is there enough sun to generate decent amount of power?

I live in italy, we have too much sun here
