How is it possible to have such low motivation? I don't like using the word addiction because it implies a lack of free will but I act as if I am addicted to junk food, coffee, and the internet.

I hate moderation. I want to do every activity a lot or not at all. Moderation in anything makes me feel like a dilletante loser.

I search and think of some sort of all encompassing, extremely simple and short, life philosophy that will guide and motivate me with all my decisions even though I know that's stupid and I know there is no theory of everything and you shouldn't care about what others think too much and most philosophers and self help is snake oil.

Man, i feel the same way, but i am down to 245 from 280. I gotta say that shit made my day. As much as i like my junk food i started that 21 day beach body diet and skip near 1/2 of wtf i should eat. Then if i am starving and dont feel like an apple i can eat a half a snickers or some jerky. This way i cheat on my diet and lose weight still.

Hell, i drink beer every day and lose 5 pounds a month. 5 pounds a month is 60 pounds a year. Fucking simple. Yet from 280 i just need 16 months to hit 200 and not even really be dieting. Its changing how u eat.

If the inlaws wanna go eat at the barbeque joint or mexican place now i get a grilled chicken sandwich or salad. Or grilled chicken burrito instead of a brisket sandwich and fries or fried chicken tacos. Little changes are easy and if you can just stick to then it gets to be routine. I brought a wheat bagel and spoonful of peanut butter for a snack instead of that delicious spicy chicken $4 gas station sandwich i love.

Also in fighting my own depression i have studied my happiest friends only to find they have the same demons they fight or worse. Life is shit and you just have to make the best of it. I have found that even though i want to go home and blowjob a shotgun that i am happier if i swing by the bar and buy a friend a beer or help one rebuild a carburetor or something.

It doesnt help much but at least if i finally roll my car or get aids and fucking die i made some use of my shitty life.

Good luck at any rate OP. U just gotta fibd some small ways to stay motivated and build from their. I suggest being one of those "happy" people i talked about. Even if you really arent. Other people will love u for it and maybe make it easier ti bot want to die every day. Dont know. But it couldnt hurt to try?
