Dumbass. You are also giving them an interest-free loan this way. It only works in your favor if you are the one that owes them money.

That doesn't work either. If you file an extension and end up owing money, they charge interest back-dated to when taxes were due (not factoring in extension)
Hence why, if you file a 4868 extension, you also send in a check with estimated debt owed.
