So say you use $3,000 to buy 2000 shares of NAK at 1.50 and then sell at 1.70; you just made $400.

Whereas if you used $3,000 to buy Microsoft, you could only buy around 46 shares lol. You would need it to go up like $10 a share (which might take a whole year, if it even happens) just to match the gains you made in NAK in the span of a few days.

But easy come easy go, with penny stocks, you can also lose a crapload of money if you dont know what you are doing and dont stick to the rules

Here's my absolute beginner understanding of penny stocks.

They are memes, and it's because of how volatile they are. The market has essentially not figured out what the stock is worth; maybe the company is new or it has fucked up in the past or whatever, but the price is fluctuating up and down pretty regularly. Big trading firms don't really fuck with them because they are too risky with big money and don't make them enough profits with small money, so it is the realm of poorfags like us to trade them. The payoff with a couple hundred invested can be huge to traders like us if you can swing trade them, i.e. the price goes up and down by a few cents per share when it cost $0.05 to begin with and you are holding 1000 shares. You just unload before the market corrects your profits away, and you aren't slinging enough shares to really affect the price with your sales.

What I haven't figured out is where to find them and how to recognize the signs which is why I'm still poor.

I need some advice here. I accidentally transferred all my stocks from Robinhood to Fidelity when I meant to transfer my one Fidelity stock to Robinhood. They closed my account and said once they do such a request they close my Robinhood account forever so I would have to apply again. Should I sell everything and get back on the Robinhood train, stick with Fidelity, transfer my shit to Scottrade (old account pre Robinhood) or something else? Keep in mind I can't directly transfer my shit back to Robinhood.

Most the people on this board are here for moon missions. A suggestion I have for you bro is to be able to let go if you get into something and then realize it was a bad choice. Don't trade with a margin account, don't deal with "instant" if you use robinhood, you'll deal with being "stuck" in a stock. Instead train your brain to know that you have a certain amount of money to spend on long holds, medium holds, and degenerate gambling, and "reserve money". Fed regulations mean you have to wait 3 days to have $ available for gambling. Trading penny stocks the trick is to get in and out quick. Take a profit and move on. Don't get emotionally attached to your picks dude.
