Who /powerball/ here? Anyone else play?
>tfw drop 200/month on tickets
What would be the biz thing to do if you won the following prizes
>1 million
>25+ million jackpot
If 1 million
>invest at least half in a long term fund to grow
>use the rest to improve life and live off of
>maybe keep job/career
If 25 million
>?????
Good investment bro

This belongs in the "things that keep people poor" thread.
No matter how you spin it buying lottery tickets isn't an investment.

Did you drive across state to buy them?
Good luck OP

1M
>pay 500K in taxes
>retire with 20K a year to spend
25M
>pay 12.5M taxes
>retire with 500K a year to spend
With the 500K a year I might hire a few developers and try to start a company if I get a good idea otherwise spend it on lifestyle.

I read somewhere all large powerball winnings are taxed 25% right there and we get the rest.
Will the remainder still be taxable?
Also nice plan. Whatever cash I do get I would put at least 70% in some fund to let it grow and use the rest for a new car/apartment/vacation etc

Just think, you could save $200 per month by not being an idiot.

poor americans... The Eurojackpot is 72 million Euro this week. Get on our level!
With my country's taxes it's still over 61 million.
What will I do with it?
Buy a big apartment in my city (~$500k), move there and invite my close friends for a party and tell them something how I got a big inheritance or something. Visit a financial counsellor as soon as I can and invest it in a semi-conservative diversified portfolio. (Also buy Bitcoin and gold coins for like max $1 million in case of a /financial/ apocalypse).
Just enjoying the feeling of having wealth and getting used to it for a few months, maybe I will travel to a some close country for a few weeks. Taking my parents for a holiday to the beach, etc.
Then as I get bored I will found a company, primarily for financial (tax) reasons and manage my expenses through that. I'm thinking about something tech or marketing related company with only a few employees. I might move to the French riviera or Switzerland later if my country goes full retard and when I see how much I can spend exactly in a year.
Would it be better to take the annuity or the lump sum?
>>1933976
lump sum
You can invest it immediately and it goes where you want when you die
Yes I fucken love it, I don't spend that much though, maybe 500 a year on a few big tickets with mates

$200/month into a roth IRA and he'd be a millionaire at 62 assuming he doesn't die of cheetohs and dr pepper consumption

>bragging about a jackpot you wouldn't even win
That just means more idiots there wasted money on the lottery then idiots here for the week.
>tfw I'm feeling lucky and buy a 20$ scratcher
>tfw I lose 20$ on literally nothing
I had a bad day that day
