So yes, people do like him, and people will invest because they want to, and want to be in on something, to feel part of something big.

Staking literally IS mining.

Right now the coin is being mined by both Proof of Work (PoW) and Proof of Stake (PoS).

When a block is found by PoW (traditional mining rigs and ASICs) the reward is 300 MILO.

When a block is found by PoS the reward is 69% annual interest on the coins used to generate the PoS block.

After block 100000, PoW will be done and the coin will be pure PoS.

On that note, we have officially passed block 50000 and are over half way done with PoW mining.
