How do I avoid selling my coins that I want to hold long term. I keep checking and the price is fluctuating going up and down around the price that I got it for. Makes me nervous and at points want to panic sell and in other instenses want to make a quick profit.

Depends on the coin.

BTC and ETH are obviously long term holds

everything else is pretty much pump&dump. Wait for big dev announcements and sell right as the hype builds up.
