Anyone else doing some social comparison and it's making them feel shitty?

> Be me
> Make $50k a year
> Good Job
> Feel good about self

Then...
> Hear about a 28 year old anon I know, that just got a job making $150k a year in some kind of computer coding / web coding job
> Another anon I know, 29 year old, just got a managing position at some insurance company, making $90k a year
> Anon I know just finished dental school and his first job starting, 4 day work week, he makes about $180k a year

Like fuck man.

First of all plenty of people lie or exaggerate their salaries. Secondly all you should care about is if you are moving forward and improving yourself
>>
>>1902523
You're almost above the average household income in the U.S. Don't sweat it. The people you are talking about probably live in HCOL areas where they have to get paid that kind of money to get people out there.

Just do you.

IKTF OP, almost exactly same situation as you. Just know that it's not like everybody is doing better than you. Hell, you're probably better off than 95% on this godforsaken board of NEETs.

The most important thing you can do is focus on yourself and continue working to improve your situation if it bothers you so much. Don't worry about what other people are doing, find your own way and remember that money isn't everything. There's other aspects to consider.

Besides, some of these $100k+ cucks are ugly as sin and will never procreate.

Lies unless living in NYC or something.

>insurance company, making $90k a year
Insurance people are worthless

>dental 180k a year
Prob a shit ton of debt just to look at people's nasty ass mouths all day.

Don't feel down anon. We'll all make it.
>>
>>1902523
>> Feel good about self

You're probably in a better position than the people in your comparisons considering that you feel good about yourself.
>>
>>1902569

>Lies unless living in NYC or something.

I made 137k last year as a software consultant doing mostly CRUD apps.
>>
>>1902573

Also I work remote and live in a suburb. Cost of living is cheap
>>
I make €27K a year and I'm happy.

Everyone follows their own path in life.

I make 22 k (US dollar) at year i'm electrical engineer. Four years of experience in Chile.

Try looking up some stats about the income and net worth of the average American, that will make you feel better.

Also income is only one side of the story, someone might make $150k wagecucking day in day out and living a miserable stressed out existence, spending one third of their wage on rent in NYC or San Fransisco then paying over a third of their salary in tax leaving them with fuck all.
>>
>>1902570

Thanks brother.

This is what I came here for.
>>
>>1902593

Not really because USD goes much farther in Chile, and I'm guessing the chilean and culture and people make it a more satisfying place to live?
>>

>>
>>1902613
This. Plus most people who make that much in their 20s are working 70+ hours per week
>>

you're right man. Sorry about your situation.

Be me

>arguably one of the coolest jobs in the world
>Do really awesome shit every day (despite mountains of paperwork
>Get paid pretty damn low for education and skill set
>See colleagues and college friends banking nearly 80k out of the gate.

Confused feels. My job satisfaction is extremely high, but I'm jelly as fuck of those that are already debt free. I graduated college under a year ago with these people, and I've barely put a dent in my loans and they have it paid off.

>>

I do work 30hrs a week.

For many months I considered myself the luckiest guy in the world.

But I live in a HCOL part of USA and I see a lot of people (and now people my age 25 - 30) just raking it in.
>>
>>1902726

See this is my regret.

I think if I had studied computer science in college I would be much better off now.
>>
Just found out that my friend from high school makes over a million dollars a year selling industrial air conditioners. Imagine my surprise when I heard that one!

My workers make $5 a day of it makes u feel better. And they slave literally all day. But they are happy

I think the definition of being rich is being able to live happily within your means.

I know I'd rather be dirt broke and happy then filthy rich and unhappy.

Life's what you make of it kid

Salary: 0
Degree: 1 year left, laughable degree at the bachelor level, but plan to continue masters and on
Debt: 20,000 from school (not sweating it though, know what I was in for by taking it)
But I just started my own business and am going to take over a part of a family business, so who knows where I'll be in a month, 6mo, 1yr
>>
>>1902569
125k here. 27. I work remote. Planning on moving to Texas because cheap and no state income tax.
>>
If you're not making 100K by 30, you're PROBABLY not ever going to be rich.

That being said, 50K for a fresh college grad is pretty typical. As long as you're learning more each year and leveraging your skills/experience you can be on the fast track to 100K as a wagecuck.

Don't expect to make more than 100-150K as a wagecuck unless you are a complete Chad. Your best bet as always is to keep learning and saving money so your can strike out on your own some day. Self-employment is a godsend.
>>
>>1905293
>But I just started my own business and am going to take over a part of a family business

>>
>>1903350
how many hours are you working a week? got time to work out and read? got free time? that you're even on this board means yes. go slay that poos, anon. you could be Kevin Spacey in American Beauty, slinging french fries for fun cause you're a self-pronounced badass and insecure girls will throw impale themselves on your cock. Get it together man. What situation were these 20 somethings even in, that they were sitting around telling you about their salaries? were they partying with you? were they coked up sadfags?
>>
>>1902726
How did you learn the job ?
>>
Guys, seriously, why do you care about money so much ? If you have a cool situation, gf/wife, like what you do every day, why bother ?

I would do with 30k/year easily, with a working schedule of about 35 hours/week. (Eurofag, so for you it must be 50k)
>>
>>1905427
Niche software development work.

>>1905441
I care about money so that I can retire early. I'll be happy retiring on 40k a year if I don't have to work for it. Until then, maximize my salary and save like a madman.
>>
>>1905438
I'm not him but I'm studying comp sci in college right now and I would say that anyone that is really motivated can learn it on their own.

I learned all my web dev skills through a club and practice on my own time (college has yet to teach me shit about web dev). Start learning on https://www.codecademy.com/ (If you're motivated you can complete the courses there pretty fast (plus its free), then work on some projects of your own to really learn.

Most of what I learned was from coming up with a website project and then forcing myself to get started and to google things I didn't know along the way.

If you're motivated you can do it.

I'm competitive as fuck and see salary as a score. I know it's not healthy but it's good motivation to keep me looking for better and better paying gigs. I also agree with >>1905466
I really don't like working that much and want to retire and do things I like to do. By the way, fellow software guy here, left my last job $80k and looking to score a ~$120k job if possible.
