Do you think its necessary? I've taken some finance courses and didnt find it particularly interesting, at least not at the asset level. The wider financial markets are interesting though.

Get that MA in Economics in a decent niche area. Probably some area of efficiency or labour economics. That'll get you in the door for consulting.
Then go do a solid MBA later and you'll have a shot at the Big 3.
