I'm a loan shark. Not a very angry one, but I figure compound fractures = no compound interest.
Beats the rates at the bank and you don't have to pay too much attention like with investments - I only lend to people too invested in their area to try and run.

Well I'm not in the US and banks here won't lend money to anyone without a regular payday, no matter the net worth you might have. They figure you'll just blow it all before repaying them and want to be able to directly take back their money from your wage. tl,dr I need money for a business venture, I have money from a previous one but it's not a regular income so I'm ineligible for a regular loan.

Honestly wish I hadn't done it but at the time I wasn't looking ahead to medically induced early retirement and needing to pay off a mortgage I didn't have when I started.
