On my phone, Mycelium:
-HD wallet is convenient and secure, only have to back up once and all past and future addresses can be recovered.
-simple and intuitive interface for account balance, send/receive, and transaction history (shows confirmations).
-can vary the transaction priority (i.e. miner fee) to expedite transactions.
There are other HD wallets out there, though. I'm sure any of them will be fine. I tried GreenAddress for a little bit and it was fine. Mycelium has been my main.
Another noob here.
Just set up a wallet with Electrum.
How do I get a couple of satoshis without paying so I can see how it works?
Search for a bitcoin faucet. You will get some micro satoshi to play around
The only one that matters in time of fiat panic.

I did, but they all have a high minimum payout, so I have to be there clicking for many hours to get the first payment.
