it doesn't have any fees if i keep $5k minimum balance which seems about right for a few months living expenses as people usually recommend
Personal banker here. Wells Fargo if you do your direct deposit with them everything is pretty much free. You could always use a credit union as well but they are super incontinent with locations and atms.
I'm with Chase for checking, 5000 min balance or a $500 monthly direct deposit and its free.
Savings I went with Ally for no fee 1% interest.
