Investment Banker
Columbia offers a program where you get your MBA and PhD in Econ at the same time. You should look into that.

PHD in some form of finance and work experience
In my country there are only two business degrees on the bachelor level, biz adm and econ. That's it. But you could do something like math/stat on the bachelor level and then go to finance.

Are you high?
PhD if he wants to become a QUANT specifically
MBA from a top university will position you well for banking if Mergers & Inquisitions is anything to go by, OP. Read that site cover to cover

Entirely depends where you get it from homeboy.
You want Investment Banking? Gotta be Top 25 at the very least, and even then have solid E.C's (army, varsity athlete, student president).
Also if you want IB, do an MBA instead of a MFin. Try and stay Top 15 for that one

Master in finance is useless unless you go to a feeder school. Ha in bus admin is always useless
PhD is a meme, once you get it you magically become unemployable and are forced to work in education or do research at an institute
