> interview with a game company coming up
>rehearse over and over my answers to questions like why do I want to work for them
> interview finally comes
> "why do you want to work for ____ games?"
> anxiety kicks in
> end up just saying "because I love video games *awkward pause* and I'd love to be able to contribute my abilities to your company"
....I fucked up didn't I?
Granted the HR guy said the interviewer liked me but I'm worried I fucked up. I was also the first person interviewed for this position so I have a feeling I won't get it anyway.
Other than that one question the convo seemed pretty chill.
But it sucks that that was the one question I was rehearsing for and fucked up my answer.

Sounds like you did ok. Surely they'll have been expecting a little spergery from applicants given they're a game company, and they'll be looking for someone passionate about the industry.

It's okay. As long as you didn't come off as batshit crazy or condescending, people aren't going to expect you to be super slick in an interview, it can even be a negative. You gave an honest, unguarded answer and that won't hurt your chances.

Definitely not condescending just more nervous than anything. This was for an art position so we didn't really tall too much about my portfolio, just my experience. I just really wanted to make a good impression. Especially since the producer who interviewed me is well known in the company.
Not sure if I should name names or even the name of the company because who knows who is viewing this site.
