I'm a canadian. My american friend has invested 30,000 in the stock market. He's made 6k in GAINS.
He's convincing me to also invest 30k in the stock market in the exact same stocks. I've known him for 15 years.
He said I already lost 2% due to inflation which is true. But would converting my canadian dollars to USD when the canadian dollar is at .74 a good idea?
What I'm afraid of is just like in 2012 maybe the canadian dollar will be equal to the american dollar and I would have lost a lot of money. But my friend told me that wont change for another year.
yeah get out of cad asap. it will probably crash.
Market will crash this year, warn him and stay away.

answer is, stock's past performance does not guarantee its future performance.
you have known him for 15 years, 8 of which obama was president.
obama = stock UP
trump = stock DOWN
but you can try exploiting the market at any rate

CAD is tied to oil, also the US DOLLAR is going to go up due to a mix of fundamentals and the euro/pound volatility. This means that relative to other currencies the US DOLLAR will rise.
