Even if it's not likely to succeed, using GPUs to mine means that you can resell your tools easily (pc gaming market)

In theory a mining rig is fine.
If the difficulty doesn't go up too fast.
If your energy is free.
If a cheaper or more cost-effective rig doesn't come out before you've broken even.
