Advice to getting into programming as a career.
1. Learn Python to get the basics down
2. Learn Java/C#
3. Get involved in a lot of project with Java/C# and continue learning.
4. Learn the basics of some other meme languages so you don't get your resume thrown away (you don't need to be competent, just enough to put on a resume)
4. Apply for jobs as an application developer or software engineer jobs.

--- some tips ---
Going to University is a great idea if you can get in a top 20 computer science school, if you can't maybe try to take a year of Geneds with lots of math classes and get a 3.8+ GPA, retake ACT/SAT and reapply.
I would also strongly suggest to start a company at some point early in your career. Do not plan on spending more than 3 years at a firm. You will get paid dogshit and be extremely competent at that point.
Best of luck.
