a lot of forms of lying are objectively illegal.
lying is a very general term though and there are countless ways we all lie. is it lying for a female salesperson to wear makeup? what's the difference between claiming you have a friend who had a great experience with a product when you really didnt, and outright claiming the product has features that it doesn't have?
there's also no such thing as objective right and wrong.
