I'm starting at a new company and, since I have time energy and bring value, I want to climb up the hierarchy.
At this office, it's a small team of about 15 people.
I want to play together well with all the different people there - a fairly diverse bunch - and so it seems reasonable to try and understand their motivations and dedications. But I don't want to take the colleague profiling too far also.
How do I keep track of all the difference personalities and not wrongly step on someones feet and, on the other hand, how to avoid not standing out.
Anybody got tips and experience?

Just don't bother OP
There is no ladder inside one company
Work for some years and look for a new company with a higher position for you. That's the ladder.

Just do your job (well) and don't start or mingle into bullshit office drama.
