my guess one morning wake up to see +150% or -50% move depending on how the data is released (expecting from 2 dif trials)

I have traded it 4 times now since 70s, 10 min ago held 6k shares now down to only 600

Just measure your level of risk, I debated today if I could stand to risk holding more than 1k shares and take a potential 7 or $800 hit and I think I could, figuring in the potential gain with good data on both trials

even if i trial fails, there's the possibility that the other will not, at least doubling chances of getting my $$ back

I am also perfectly aware of the possibility that I made a mistake by offloading most of my shares...if it goes up then its really no skin off my back I still made money overall and will make a bit more with the few shares im holding

I hate the feeling of having waaayyy too many shares going into a major catalysts and not sure what the outcome will be and have lost quite a lot of money over the years betting the wrong way

Go to SEC website and look for the files of the company you're looking at. How are they financially? Who's the CEO and the executives?
Next, watch how the stock trades, figure out the technical analysis aspect of it. If the future me told me to buy AMD for example, I wouldn't buy it if I see it's already up huge 5 days in a row. I'd wait until whoever is in it sells off, let the price pull back before I get in.
Then decide what price you're willing to cut your losses or take your profits when you have a position.

All of this is very much math based, not gambling

you sort of just stare at the numbers and something will pop up in your mind after a while. you cant really read a book or watch videos to learn technicals, because the details and tricks change all the time in weeks, even days.
but the big idea is just simply supply vs demand. stocks go up then down and repeat. thats it.

if the company is doing good, price has gone up a lot, most of the float (available shares) has already been bought to push it that high, so it will naturally come down because people want their profits. good time to short, bad time to long. after the majority finish selling (which you can determine by several ways) you long again.

its different for stocks that didnt go up at all, but just crashed. because something is wrong with the company, and there will be very much less buying power, so its harder to analyze

heres the pic of the strategy i mentioned about algos. sometimes when a hedge fund wants to buy some low float stock, it doesnt do it all in 1 sitting. that wouldnt be efficient at all. they want low price, so they buy some, stop pushing and wait for people sell to them, then continue. you can see when they're ready to go again by reading the bid/ask and knowing which market maker (the letters) is actually them

2 safe investments:

1. Some big company has some bad news that actually not a big deal but the market overacts and plummets. they will inevitably recover, usually the next day. the best way to learn to trade is just by looking at recent charts. srs. prices don't move randomly. they're dictated by float, supply vs demand for both the buyer's side and the seller's side, and how hedge funds trade them. theres always a pattern. not like a "head and shoulders" or "cup and handles" whatever those are..
