What are your thoughts on FANG, the four big tech companies? Which do you like, which do you hate? How are their business practices? What impact are they having?

I would drop netflix from there. It's hardly comparable

So what are your thoughts on FAG then?
>>1823555
i like netflix cause they by far do what they do better and as internet improves theyll just get better
facebook is meh to me but im not familiar with all their products
amazon will take over the world
holding hands with google.
tesla fits well with these guys as well even if not strictly tech.
dollar cost averaging google and amazon throughout your lifetime with like 10% of your income is not a bad idea imho

love it :^)

Google over facebook because I perceive that its data set is larger and the company is more established. Amazon is good because it has been able to organize selling of tangibles efficiently. Amazon has made impressive headways into software with AWS, echo, kindle. Google has the pixel and nest... If i had to pick one i'd pick Amazon because it sells more than just ads

dollar cost averaging is a meme my friend

not really imo... constant nominal buy means you're buying more when the price is low and less when it's high and since in the short term it's hard to predict whether a share is high or low this ensures a reasonable average price.

I am well aware of how dollar cost averaging works.
But if you are looking at the long run, you will do better off not trying to time the market at all and just investing right away. Yes perhaps in the short run you may see much more of a drop than if you DCA, but if you can stomach it and stay invested, you will be better off in the end.
