How can someone land a job at companies like Google in Europe? Just over linkedin you can see that at one position there were over 150 applicants (just from linkedin). In my case it's a position about ux-design. I fullfill all the written requirements, went to a top university and got a master title, have a strong portfolio website, etc. Even worked abroad for a year. The only thing which is missing a bit is work-experience. I have about 3 years during and before my master studies (intern position). Is that a exclusion criterion?

Do you have any pro-tips of how to increase the chances?

github/portfolio
Applying on linkedin is useless, they reach out to you if they want you. The process can take up to a year till they place you somewhere.

>they reach out to you if they want you

So... Can we discuss how m00tykins got hired?
>>
>>1811880
Its not obvious? Either way he is working on Google Calendar, which is a joke. Its like the story goes, Larry and Sergei are having drinks on their yacht as they're going through employee files. This one was a senior executive at an SP500, now he's doing support for us. This one was an inventor at a medium stage startup, now he's SDE I. Etc...
>>
>>1811882
Assuming he got reached out. I dont know the full story. I stopped browsing 4chan for a year when he left.

It's kind of weird because the position I want to apply for is re-opened every few months. I really don't know why. Is it because among the hundreds of applicants no one is fitting in? No idea

Green frogs exist at Google as well.

best way to get a job is to know someone on the inside.

got my GF a job at IBM by talking to the right people.

netwerk breh.

I suggest you start rustling the grapevine at your alma mater, see what falls out, and move from there.

>>1811891

and one you're in the loop you know who can answer questions like that.
>>
they want smart people. So if you can get to an interview and be able to solve math problems quickly in the office, then you have a good chance of being hired I think.
>>
>>1811944
>I think.

you have no idea. whiteboard problems are a joke

kys if that's where you fail.

Dublin google offices gets either 1 or 6 million applications per year

nepotism. it's called nepotism.
>>
those big companies usually have talent scouts.
BUT it does not mean you can just program in the dark until someone notices you by accident. you need to work on projects and contribute
>>
also, they will look into your brwoser/google search history. If you google loli porn daily, expect to not get hired
>>
>>1812257
fuck

>>1811938
thanks for your advice. I guess that makes sense. I try to attend more at tech meetups then and make some connections
>>
Gf works as a recruiter for a big tech company. The best way to get into one of these companies is knowing something many others don't, mostly languages.

For the average 'has the diploma, some experience and speaks the local language and English' job there are tons of candidates and you'll have to impress them in conversation with them. When they need a German and English speaking Frenchman they have to look for ages and can basically throw money at candidates because it's a hard to find profile.

These companies are so big that they can afford to hire people based on one specific trait, whereas smaller companies usually look for the most well rounded people.

>>
>>1813447
No, with my bachelor degree
>>
FUCK!!! RAAAWWWW!!!!

Don't give a shit about any recruiter! They're scum. you don't needthem. As otheranons said, to know someone inside is important. So go to job fairs and talk to people and be active on linked in.
>>
>>1813504
>active on linked in
Is it ok to just add random people I don't know, or do you mean to add them once I talked with them at a job fair?
>>
>>1811807
You have to be a poo in loo who is willing to work for half the money anyone else would work for.
