GDI how did I only learn about this now? I've hated where I've lived for a decade but business has been good. Now that I primarily work from home, my location isn't as important. I come across acts 20 & 22 for PR where (very simplified) I'd only pay 4% income tax total for local work in PR and 0% income for exported services (which would be all of my current contracts).
Wait, there's more! 0% short and long term capital gains on investments and dividends. Holy shit.
Anyone live there? I read it's both beautiful and a crime ridden shithole. Why haven't you moved to PR yet?
Because of the horrible corruption, fucked economy, and awful financial mismanagement.
Because of the Puerto Rican people

I'm a New Zealander and spent 12 months there trying to start a business, my ex wife was borican.
The problem is the entire State of PR is bankrupt.
Not only that but trying to start an agricultural business there was a nightmare as no one wants to work. And its not just farmwork, but any services, and if you do finally get someone to do even the most basic of services for you they expect a tip. You have to pay extra for everything. I met some Dominicans once who were really rude to me as they thought I was American and once they found out I was a kiwi they wanted me to give them money.
I was also mugged 5 times there, 4 times in San Juan, once in Ponce.
Also there's car accidents everywhere because loud mouthed hoop earing rican girls drive around messaging on facebook constantly, but thats only when the traffic actually moves.
Also wiggers. If someone is white from PR theyre a wigger.
Also all carribeans should play cricket.

There are less people living there than 100 years ago... anyone with any hope, knowledge, skill or education leaves PR for America.
They have more debt than the entire state of new york.
