Anyone here in the scrap gold buying business? I'm thinking of putting up some flyers advertising that I'm willing to buy old jewelry. Does anybody in this line of work have any tips for me? Any stories to share?
Don't buy ANYTHING without getting it tested.

You know there are just scams - usually Nigerians conning old women and poor people to hand over their gold, wait 2 weeks for the purity to be tested and a "cheque" that never comes.
Pretty sure these are played out now.

E-scrap refining is only worth it if you're doing it in tons. I do not have the funds to set up an operation that is capable of buying, collecting and refining several tons of e-scrap.

About 9 years late to the party dude. Everyone who had "spare" gold lying around sold it years ago.

There are buyers near me that have been profitable for years, so I assume there is still money to be made. And even if there isn't, I don't care about failing because it's not that huge of an investment to get things running.
