choose an online broker, deposit the money into their account, buy securities based on your risk preference.

Honestly there isn't more much to it, they hand hold you and everything, even giving you a test to see the risk level you want and then make suggestions.

WOAHHHH
I'm in a near identical situation to you. I'm 22, finishing my engineering degree in April, live at home with next to no expenses. I have about 65,000 and am in the middle of educating myself in investing. (I still don't know what to do, but I'm doing some reading).

Max your TFSA by putting it into $VFV

>I have $60,000 Canadian
what's that, like $17.95 US?

roughly ill have to check the conversion rate
>>
>open a Questrade Account
>open a TFSA with them
>buy only dividend ETFs but diversity (ZDI, ZDY, ZRE, ZDV, etc.) so you cover the market
>collect monthly dividends tax free

BRUH

Would you recommend Canadian ETF's or American

>questrade instead of QTrade master race

literally why

also dividends is fucking retarded with only $60k
>>
OP, you're doing this wrong

you're 23, have a lifetime of income ahead of you and no rent or commitments

put all your money in weed stocks
or don't and buy ETFs, like FIE that pay 6%, enjoy your extra 3600

OP also Canadian invest specifically in aurora cannabis for best ROI. they have the land prepared to grow their own crops in alberta, and they are debt free, and already prepped to be the government provider in the province

don't forget me when you're rich!

Put your money in a robo account and set and forget.

I think investing in weed stocks is a mild form of retardation. A fucking weed, it can practically grow itself. If it's 'legalized' it's going to be growing everywhere and by everyone, no one is going to be paying much for it and use will probably decline in the end. Of course decriminalization is what should be happening but goobermint just wants more US style fascism. It will end badly for goobermint and for weed startups and their investors.

OP since he is young with not much responsibility and money to burn needs to max out his TFSA - 50K now - with somewhat risky but potentially profitable stocks. With a housing bubble on the horizon I would steer clear of heavy REIT weighting and go for mostly US based stocks. America will be great again, maybe defense stocks as world is getting locked down quick now, war probably imminent somewhere, it always is, also oil again now in the dip.

Alcohol is also incredibly easy and legal to make at home. Put some yeast in a bottle of fruit juice and see what happens. Yet its still a huge undustry.

You arent wrong about him maxing out his tfsa room, but you are wrong on his limit, it is not over 50k. You only start accruing at age 18, you have to have been born in 1991 at the latest to have the full limit.
