BUSINESS IDEA:
What if we made a /biz/ group and collaborated to give terrible, negative reviews on a decided upon business and then contacted them extorting them for payment to remove the negative reviews, and additional payment for positive reviews?
I think this could constantly work if we tried it on small businesses.
isnt extortion illegal. im a good boy

Better idea:
Start a network of people working in the world of finance to generate rumors and "tips" with the purpose of sinking businesses or launching them into success.

small business owner here.
I'm listed on about 50 different review sites. I don't read any of the reviews on any of them. there's too many sites out there for them to have any meaningful impact.

I somehow doubt this.
If you pick a small business that has no online review presence and then all of a sudden when customers google it and get 10+ 1 star reviews saying 'EXTREMELY RUDE OWNER, DO NOT SHOP HERE' 'does not honor return policy', etc this will definitely have an effect on the business.
