How do I become motivated to do well at my job?
I have a decent white-collared cubicle job. Make decent money. Get decent benefits.
But lately I've become so unmotivated at work. I can't seem to give a shit to make some asshole's dreams come true through my sweat and labor. And it's effecting both my work performance (as I've been making more mistakes in my assigned projects) and just my soft skills (in other words I'm not too friendly while there anymore).
I'm worried that eventually they're going to pink slip me if I keep this up. Every work day, I try to go in there with a positive attitude, but I always wind up so unmotivated 1 or 2 hours into the day.

You have lost your fear of dying. The only reason I was motivated when I started was because I knew if I failed I would end up back on the street or sleeping in my car. Now I have savings and the threat is gone. I am thinking of getting a part time job in addition to my regular job to break the monotony.

-take modafinil. don't overdo it. maybe take a pill one day a week to help bang out alot of your most tedious tasks.
-get married and have kids, get a mortgage. this should motivate you because if you fuck up, you will destroy your whole family.
