No, you don't include anything like that in your return. Basically they take your word on what you put on your return, unless there is reason to believe otherwise, and then you are audited. That's when you will need proofs.

If I sold my ownership in an llc for 20k (8k of which I gifted away). And it was in the form of a business check put into my checking account. What's my chance of an audit if I report 0 income?

Gotta add I've never made any income from the llc and had no other jobs for 2016. No w2 forms or anything but a written and signed contract for the payment. (Business papers don't even have anything but my name and signature, no SSN or anything)
