Its only a decent deal as far as credit cards go. Cash back takes a long time to add up to meaningful amounts if you aren't faking the spending.

Signup bonuses are more worth your time. Chase has some cards with pretty big ones.

I have a card like that, it's pretty good as long as you only spend on what you would have bought anyway and pay it off in full every month.

Shit eventually adds up and soon you have $100+ in cash back rewards.

Look for big signup deals. One of my chase cards gave me $1000 sign up after spending like $4000 in the first three months. And on top of that I get 3% back on anything travel related, 2% on dining, and 1% on everything else.

back in the old days people could buy gov bonds and stuff like that with credit cards and get the cashback which was not limited and financial assets were not excluded yet. but those days are long over.
