Also when setting sell limits or sell stops you are creating a contract with your broker that they need to sell at that price so your broker can not lend out your shares to other brokers for shorts to borrow.

On a level 2 traders can see orders on both the bid and ask side, its not attractive to bulls to have a crowded level 2 on the ask side.

In a stock like DCTH the market cap is very small and so is the float, you want to buy up the float and set sell limits (lock up the float) this will prevent shorts from borrowing shares. When shorts go to cover (they eventually will) they will have to buy it from the lowest seller. if the lowest seller is at $3.00 and the stock is at the .50 but the short has to buy to cover their short position, guess what price they will have to pay?

Personally I have yahoo finance installed on my phone. If there's a "meme" I check it out to see if there's volume so the stocks moving and if there's any news on it too. Finviz is also really good for checking things.

Beyond that fundamentals and technicals you'll need to read intro articles and books to familiarize yourself with that.
After enough time you'll get a certain back for seeing what's a good meme but there are times where you'll be wrong.
