>Turn the recorder on my phone on just before I have a meeting with my boss
>At the start of the meeting, pretend I just got off the phone and leave the phone on the desk on silent
>Pack up and leave at the end
>Come back 1 hour later asking if I left my phone in the office
>He points to it and I walk off
>Use the information I obtain from his conversations to my advantage
>Promoted within the month

Found out the boss disliked his Vice for making basic mistakes so I made up examples of people in my office doing the same stuff and complaining about them in conversation.
He became comfortable around me because of this as he thought we were similar and got rid of his Vice in favor of me.

You can simply lock your phone ofcourse, and when you blackmail him you dont say how you got the info

does anyone else find this strange:
OP pulls a stunt with an obvious end.
aka he leaves his phone on the desk, comes back later, "OOPS! I forgot! LoL! sorry!"
this is a stunt that works exactly once, it would start to get suspicious if you always happen to be leaving your phone on the guys desk.
BUT
this also happened to be the one crucial time that OP could actually use the information.
meaning that for OP to gain anything from the stunt, he had to choose the exact time to do it that would reap the precious info needed for his promotion.
how. is. this. possible
