Well anon, I would say you're the prime example of somebody who should spend at least a year traveling and working before university. If you're going just "for the experience" with no real passion for the subject or plans for after graduation then you're about to waste three years and a hell of a lot of money.

What are you interested in? University is a major drag if your heart isn't in it. It'll be much easier and more successful if you do something you like.

Get a list of available studies, then throw out everything you'd rather be caught dead than perform for the rest of your life. From the rest compile a shortlist of things that are both somewhat interesting and somewhat profitable.

Wait for the new term/semester, go the online course book and pick one or two basic lectures for each remaining study. Protip: Pick ones that are either renowned as difficult or sound boring to you. Then go there and sit in the back of lectur halls for ideally the second or third week in the semester. In the end you'll know which studies ignite your passions and which are actually insufferable. Maybe talk with some people while you're there to get a read on what it's actually like studying (how's the community? how's the homework? etc)

masters in taxation...

CPA's in Taxifornia made a requirement you have to take some master's level accounting courses.... The JC's courses are actually better, but don't qualify for you to sit for CPA exam

Go look at jobs reports for your country.

In the US IT and Healthcare are some of the biggest growing fields and are very broad. They share some overlap as well.

Need to be careful though, economic conditions can change a lot in the 4+ years spend in higher education. Numbers now aren't enough.

Nothing's a guarentee but these fields have some of the highest potential growth. Big data is still a relatively new concept and companies are investing heavily into to exploit. Meanwhile healthcare is obviously growing because of aging boomers.
