I work for a company in Asia. They make us sign in and sign out to clock our time using fingerprint scanners.
I often have nothing to do the entire day, so I'm thinking of ducking out early and just not coming back or signing out until tomorrow morning.
Any chances I'll get caught? Or are these things just for show?

If they make people sign in and out using a fingerprint scanner it means they take wage theft seriously.
And if they take it seriously there is a good chance you'll get caught by trying to trick them.
Besides, you could use this opportunity to do something online to make money.

You can have a buddy clock you in and out with some superglue and a plastic bag.
I've heard of people having success with gummy candies and silly putty as well.
