Would this work, /biz/? Reverse lottery.
>Entry fee is $10,000
>The majority of people get their money back and more
>One person (or a few people) get nothing
why would anyone enter this when there's far more fun and efficient ways of gambling?

the point of lottery is that the payout is nice
I dont see that happening with your system
It wouldn't be popular since the risk/reward sense in humans is very lopsided. Winning a relatively large amount feels ok, but losing even a small amount can be traumatic.
So, with a lottery like this, people would just think about the potential losses and would never play.

But the chance of winning is very high. Like 97%. It's practically guaranteed unless you have shit luck. Maybe $10k is too expensive, but I bet people would do it for $1k.

Yeah, but I'm putting $10,000 on the line to win what... an extra $10?
Not worth it.
