>absentee ownership allowed
brehs why aren't you buying pizza hut franchises

>having to hire a manager in place
Only worth it if you can bring enough money in, which, one store just doesn't do, even if it's making 2m in rev..

I know the owner of a McDonalds franchise here in Australia. It brings in about $30,000 gross a week. The overheads are huge though

I spent 11 years managing franchises for Jamie Coulter, multi-billionaire franchise owner that later started Lone Star Steakhouse.
I know that you can't live on one store, you can barely live on 5. If you want to make millions off Pizza Huts you need to spend hundreds of millions first.

another thought-
most of the money in Hut's is in owning the real estate. Equity.
you don't make a profit selling pizza. You make a profit selling Pizza Hut franchises including the building and lots.
True of most restaurants in rural areas. The money is in the land and the building, not just the stupid business that barely pays the mortgage.
