Regarding hiring process/post interview.
When they say, "we will let you know as soon as possible"
Now, i know this is mainly reserved for chose candidate (i imagine he/she finds out the moment interviews are over) and the rest of the bunch with a couple day/week lag.
I had in interview for marketing/pr position on Monday, now is Friday, haven't heard from them yet.

So what is the question?

Did they notify their "perfect" candidate yet?

When I run interviews I interview everyone before I make a decision.

Sometimes it can take a while. I've applied for jobs and it's taken weeks to hear back about an offer. Other times I've never heard back. Sometimes I've gotten an offer on the spot. I say wait two weeks before you ask.
Did you send a thank-you card or email yet?

I move quickly. If someone is good, I will reach out to them within 2 days to schedule the next interview.
If someone is bad, I will pretend to take time to deliberate, and then reject them within 1 day.
I get in touch with my match within 1 day of the last interview.
Some places will just straight up not contact you if they reject you, not sure if they are lazy or what. A lot of places don't conduct interviews in ways that keep rejected candidates as potential customers.

If it's public sector, who knows, it could take a month.
