How do I move up to supervisor within a factory when I work night shift and never see the plant manager? I always ask the supervisor for managerial tasks to take the load off him but I've been his bitch since April and nothing has changed. A supervisor position opened in July but I didn't get it.

I just want to be a fucking supervisor. How do I show the plant manager I'm ready when I haven't seen him since my new hire orientation almost 3 years ago because I work night shift?

That's almost impossible to get. I could switch to another night shift no problem, but I would be better off buying lottery tickets than hoping I get switched from night to day.

Ah yes. Your roll gives you no visibility so it's tough to stand out. This is actually a fairly common problem in the professional world.

Can you reach out directly to your plant manager and schedule a meeting? You can tell him what your goals are and ask his advice on what it would take to reach your goals. That will put you on his radar, show initiative and give you more of a path to follow.
