What is the grand strategy for China's investment in Africa?
What's their endgame?
natural resources and/or strategic military positions

Why would Central Africa be a military position of significance?

Cheap resources. More export markets.
it's colonialism all over again, you knows those Chinese they'll see what Westerners do and then do a cheaper, inferior copy. But it's cheaper, so like you don't mind if it falls apart in 12 months, because you know you're not really gonna use it again.
vis a vis Africa.
Pic-related is a very interesting read about this. As the anon above said, the Chinese are pretty much colonizing Africa. They're also hilariously racist against Africans.

They are going to have to deal with the Papacy, it's where the Vatican is building Mordor.

Volatile nations rich in natural and mineral resources which china have alot of stakes in. Also, protecting their shipping trade from piracy.

China is too densely populated. Africa is the opposite (apart from fucking Nigeria). They need living space.

Who isn't hilariously racist against africans?
>>1637988
True, but the Chinese are much more open about it. In nearly every chapter of the book, the author is horrified to hear that the Chinese colonizer he's interviewing thinks Africans are lazy and stupid.

The Chinese are odd. Their racism doesn't even seem like racism. When a Chinese man says that an African is stupid and lazy, he often doesn't sound malicious in the least. More like he's just stating a fact.
It makes the Chinese's incredulity when dealing with negroes even funnier.
