Live and work in Vancouver Washington

I pay 0% state income tax. I just interviewed for a job in Portland Oregon at $105-110k/year. Better pay and cheaper healthcare but I have to pay 9% income tax.

How do you avoid taxes?

I pay federal taxes.
I live and work in a state with no state income taxes. Washington uses just a sales tax, no income tax.
It's pretty awesome. All the perks of Portland, none of the bullshit.

It's not a lot of money for Seattle, but I was lucky enough to buy a foreclosed house right after the real estate crash, so my mortgage payment is way less than what most people are paying for housing up here these days.

Amazon has been reaching out to me. I could probably get a good job with them pretty easily.
But right now I'm at $95k while making $1700 mortgage payments on a $266k home loan for a 4 bedroom house in an upper middle class community with good schools.
I think I'd need to demand $180k from a Seattle employer just to maintain the level of comfort I have right now. And that seems like a pretty big demand.
>85k
>Dallas area
It's good money for the area but it's also getting more expensive quickly. Hopefully my pay keeps up.

It may be worth it depending on how much you pay for healthcare

It'll work out to a $5-800/month net pay hike. (Still negotiating the salary)
