but y
whats this for?
And are you retarded? (or am I?) I casually browse this board, but the answer is obviously 20%, as thats how much in taxes you are paying in both examples they give. How do you spend 20m looking for this?
>>1622736
wow you really are dumb. to be more clear...
20% of 40,000 is 8000
20% of 50,000 is 11,000
The marginal tax rate is 20%
I'm not denying the fact that im mentally retarded. now help me with this.
nvm figured it out u guyr r retarded its 30%

Isnt it 3000 ÷ 10000?
In the first question, he paid $8000 in taxes on his first $40k.
Then he made another $10k, and paid $3000 more (bringing total tax paid up to $11k) in taxes.
$3k is 30% of $10k.
So his marginal tax rate--the $3k tax he paid on the extra $10 he got taxed on--was 30%.

look up how marginal tax rates work
it's not very complicated, but you'd be surprised how many people misunderstand them and do stupid things like working fewer hours to keep themselves in a lower tax bracket

That's what I thought, the marginal rate would be (11k-8k)3k ÷(50k-40k)10k = 30%
