I'm scared.
I work minimum wage job which requires nothing more than packing stuff from the conveyor line in to boxes. 12 hours a day on feet, 5 days a week. That's all I've been doing since my late teens when I began working here.
I am reading all these articles about robotics and it is genuinely scary - I have no skills, I can't afford to pay for University and in general, I am barely surviving as it is.
What should a wagecuck like me do in order to prevent what seems to be hobo lifestyle in 15-20 once automatization hits other areas of work in factories?
Inb4 kys. I don't want to - plenty of things that I enjoy in my little, simple life.

Been trying to do that but old farts are really holding on to their jobs - can't blame them.
But I was thinking about some sort of a long-term plan - I have no problems doing dirty, cheap work for the rest of my life but I doubt, am scared I will not be able to hop from dumb X job to dumb Y job forever.
I buy the damn lottery ticket twice a month - obviously, nothing so far.
I have been thinking about learning how to manage logistics (and all the programs/tools for it) on my own but fuck, they required degree everywhere!

why are you still working minimum wage?
if you're still working for minimum wage after a year, fucking quit.
You need to obtain skills and run the ladder.

Get a generic office job they pay better for less straining work. Ask your managers if they'll let you do some paperwork so you can pad your resume with clerical work.

How? There are no skills to obtain here outside of driving the loading truck.
Everything is automatized already - the only people who are in the actual factory are like me and an engineer/supervisor (which also requires a specific degree with specific cutting-tool certificates).

Get a grant and take some free JR college classes for office management and anything else you'd like. Just by bring here you're probably already more tech savvy than anyone you work with I have a manager at a nonprofit that can't even add her printer to the network
