>tried applying for accounting jobs all October with only a data entry job as experience on my resume (the truth)
>get no responses
>2 weeks into November and I lied and said I worked at a local firm during college as a staff accountant for a year and that I know QuickBooks (I don't)
>start a new job next Monday that pays $21.00 an hour that barely uses QuickBooks anyways
don't fall for the truth meme. unless you literally have autism/are really bad at telling lies then the interview is the easiest thing

I looked up some tutorials online and I feel pretty comfortable with it. Looks even more braindead that the software i used at my data entry job.

industry and small public firms always want experience, even if it's unnecessary. if you don't have experience and you're still in school, apply to big 4 firms. they're much more lenient with experience requirements.
